Miss Mustard Seed Milk Paint

I just love that name - what a fab name for a brand of paint!

There are probably many of you that havent heard of Miss Mustard Seed Milk Paint but do a search on the internet and you will be bombarded with images, Youtube clips and information. Miss Mustard Seed is a person called Marian Parsons who started a small "interiors on a budget" business. What started as a hobby and small business to pay for extras for the family outgrew all expectations and she is now a reknown blogger and interior designer in the States, with her own paint brand that is sold all over the world. She is also a lovely, genuine lady with her feet firmly on the ground - I know as I have spoken to her via Skype.

Her enthusiasm for up-cycling, antiques and making a home beautiful is infectious and she seems to have endless energy and be a bit of a superwoman! Certainly someone to admire and to inspire you.

Sandlings became a stockist of Miss Mustard seed around 2.5 years ago. The paints are really interesting to use, being a powder that you mix with water. They are great for use on older pieces that need a sympathetic makeover giving a soft, distressed look and are based on old traditional recipes that include Casein the milk protein, hence the name! This paint goes beyond no VOC, since it is made with only five all-naturall ingredients - milk protein, limestone, chalk, clay and natural pigments - and has been around for hundreds of years.

It is surprisingly versatile and has can be used on furniture, walls, metal and unfinished wood floors. It can be used outdoors when protected with our tung oil. So if you fancy trying something a little different pick up a tester pack for just £4.95 and paint a small piece - I am sure you will love it as much as we do!
